Dinosaur Nights & Lights

Enjoy luminescent evenings on the Dinosaur Discovery Track - on every night from Friday 20 June - Sunday 13 July, 5pm - 8:30pm. See the stunning animatronic dinosaurs in a whole new light, a selection of brilliant animal-themed lanterns, and more.

This enchanting event is running for 24 consecutive nights, with two of those nights adults only (R18). Pre-booking online is essential and we are operating a timed-entry system for this special event.

Dinosaur Discovery Track

The past is closer than you think…

Travel back in time on our Dinosaur Discovery Track to experience some of the awe-inspiring creatures that lived up to 250 million years ago.

This immersive educational experience in the Zoo’s former elephant habitat features 25 full-scale animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar.

Open daily from 10am - 4pm, until 31 October 2025.

Promotion

Volunteers can visit the Zoo on us!

During National Volunteer Week Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu (15-21 June 2025) visitors who volunteer at any organisation in Aotearoa New Zealand will be eligible to receive free daytime entry to our Zoo with valid ID.

This is our way of giving back to the volunteers who do so much for organisations around the motu, especially for not for profits like Auckland Zoo. Let your friends or whānau that volunteer know about free entry to Auckland Zoo for National Volunteer Week.
