If the Zoo must be closed for unexpected reasons, such as major weather events, flooding or for public safety, we will advise of the closure on our website and social media channels.
Your support means the world to us – and the animals that we care for here at the Zoo and in the wild. If you haven't been able to visit us due to the Zoo being closed for unexpected reasons such as major weather events, flooding or Covid-19 lockdowns, we will extended your membership for the period that we are closed, so that you won’t miss out, and will still receive your full 12-months’ membership.
You don’t need to contact us to receive this additional period of membership as we’ll change your end-date automatically. If your membership is due for renewal while we are closed, then we sincerely hope you consider continuing to support the Zoo, even if you can’t visit for the time being.
If you do have any other specific questions, please email annual.passes@aucklandzoo.co.nz and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Our Wellbeing in Nature Community Programme provides an accessible gateway to reconnect people with nature, enhance wellbeing, foster empathy, build optimism and mobilise social change for people to become powerful advocates for healthy communities and healthy ecosystems. Free access to the Zoo as part of the programme is included for our communities where the price of admission tickets remains one of the biggest obstacles to visiting Auckland Zoo.
Any community group can express an interest in joining this programme, however please be aware that priority will be given to those within specific geographic locations and/or groups and to those who wellbeing will benefit the most from a Zoo visit at that time.
If your application meets the criteria outlined on the Wellbeing in Nature page at the time of submission, it will be approved and you’ll get a confirmation email (including your group’s tickets and other programme details) that you can use to visit the Zoo on your chosen day.
To find out more and apply, visit our Wellbeing in Nature Community Programme page.

Please note – all browse / plants for donation must be pesticide and spray free.
