We recently pitched in at a TREEmendous event - planting native trees and shrubs for Kiwi kids at Stanhope Road School!

Rebecca and Annalese, two of our awesome Marcomms staff, attended the weekend event to support the passionate kids at this enviro school, the local Mt Wellington community and our partners at Mazda New Zealand.

Stanhope Road School’s Eco-warriors (a group of environmentally conscious year seven and eight students) applied for and were granted a $10,000 grant to create their dream outdoor learning space which was made possible thanks to the Mazda Foundation and Project Crimson.

Supporters – including Mazda Ambassadors the Vodafone Warriors, Boh Runga, Peter Wolfkamp and Ruud ‘The Bugman’ Kleinpaste – got stuck in to help transform a 1000m2 grassed area into an dynamic habitat full of native plants and shrubs. Perfect for facilitating hands-on learning, this new space includes a wildflower meadow to provide food and shelter for bees, insects and lizards and a rainwater harvesting feature that will be used to water the plants and fill up drinking stations for the animals and insects.

We’re proud to be involved in encouraging these future conservationists! Watch our recent video featuring Stanhope Road School’s Principal and students below, and see how our team of educators engage kids in learning about wildlife and wild places.
