Matariki is a time to remember those we have lost, to celebrate our present together, and to plan for the year to come.

One of the ways we celebrate Matariki at Auckland Zoo is by bringing people together and sharing stories of the world around us.

Join our conservation learning facilitators and learn about Aotearoa’s native and endemic animals through Māori pūrākau. Rediscover the inherent connection between people, land and animals in an interactive presentation surrounded by the vibrant calls of birds, the soft trickling of streams and the intent stillness of the trees that provide shelter and knowledge in Te Wao Nui.
