Our ring-tailed lemurs were excited to see this visitor!

Many of you may have seen our free-range peacock Harold that lives at Auckland Zoo - he can often be spotted visiting different species, habitats and zoo staff. Primate keeper Vanessa recently caught Harold saying kia ora to our troop of female lemurs – and judging by their reactions, they seemed very excited to see him in place of our regular zoo friends and visitors.

Since lockdown, Harold has kept himself busy traversing the zoo and as always, is enjoying being cared for and fed by multiple animal teams! We’ve got more videos to come of Harold interacting with other species, so stay tuned for more peacock adventures!
