Safari Nights

Walk, sleep and eat with the animals

SpookySafariNightImage

Round up your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours, and come and explore the Zoo after dark!

Some creatures only come out at night...

Safari NightsWhether you sleep over at the Old Elephant House and stay for breakfast, or just enjoy the evening barbeque and guided night walk, we promise you a night to remember.

Your Safari Night evening includes a classic Kiwi barbeque followed by a torch-lit adventure.  You could discover everything from lions on the prowl and hippos looking for a late-night snack to nocturnal bats coming to life, an elephant snacking on bamboo, or rhinos out in the cool of the evening.

Stay over at the Old Elephant House and you'll wake with the animals and enjoy breakfast before heading home, to school or work - with all your memories and unique stories to share!

Helping Animals in the Wild

Auckland Zoo is involved in breeding, recovery and research programmes for many threatened and endangered native and exotic animals.

Your experience gives back! By going on a Safari Night, you contribute to helping us carry out this vital work. Along with our conservation work on site, through the Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund, we also support field conservation projects for endangered wildlife - both here in New Zealand and overseas.
