Can we self-cater at the Zoo?
Yes we do allow self-catering, however, there are no cooking or heating facilities on the premises. Please also note that if you are supplying alcohol to your guests, there are conditions around the amount of food that must be served. Please speak with Restaurant Associates for more information.
How do we book a function at the Zoo?
To book a venue please contact our Functions team on 09 360 3813 or email functionsweb@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz. We will check availability for you, and your particular function requirements.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking, which is the full venue amount. Our terms and conditions must be signed and returned.
Can we have both our wedding ceremony and the reception at the Zoo?
Yes. We have some great spots for ceremonies and for receptions. The Zoo has a great advantage as a venue in Auckland as there is plenty for your guests to do in-between the ceremony and reception, while you are having your photos taken.
For weddings at the Zoo, can we supply our own photographer?
Yes, absolutely. We are happy to arrange a time for your photographer to come in for a site inspection and view our beautiful Zoo!
We would like to come and view the venues before booking. Can we do this?
We recommend meeting you for a site inspection to view the different areas of the Zoo and to discuss your requirements further. An appointment must be made between Monday and Friday from 9am to 4pm by contacting the Functions team on 09 360 3813 or emailing functionsweb@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz.
How do my guests gain access into the Zoo?
Once final numbers are advised, wristbands are allocated for each function. It is your responsibility to ensure your guests receive these and wear them as they enter the Zoo. If for some reason your guests don't have their wristband on the day, they will be required to pay the standard admission prices at the ticket office.
If a guest is unable to attend a function on the day, can they use their wristband another day?
Wristbands are only allocated to a particular function on a certain day. They cannot be used at another time.
