Kids get the chance to be a zookeeper for a day through our junior keeper programme.

Auckland Zoo offers children from 7 to 17 years the chance to take part in some of the daily activities of a zoo keeper.

The Junior Keeper Programme gives youngsters fantastic opportunities to check out what goes on behind the scenes at the Zoo.

Day courses are offered during the school holidays, giving young people with a keen interest in animals and the environment a real-life experience of what a keeper's role involves. The day gives kids the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing animals!

Activities include helping to clean, feed and care for various Zoo animals as well as exploring other parts of the Zoo.

The cost for this exciting day is $125 (GST inclusive) per child, and includes morning tea.
