Discovery and Learning Centre offers a wide variety of learning formats, please choose from the following which will be the most appropriate to your students learning:

Non-contact (school teacher led) observation in Zoo grounds

Zoo byte sessions (short 30 minute educator led sessions)

Discovery Sessions - Classroom based

Discovery Days (zoo grounds based activities)

Non-contact (school teacher led) observation in Zoo grounds

Suitable for Year 1 - Year 13 NZ students and overseas visitors (unlimited group size).

Available during term time (9.30am – 4.15pm, last entry)

Discounted entry rates for non-contact observation in Zoo grounds:
Students – $6 each
Supervising adults (including teachers) (1 adult : 6 students) - free of charge
Additional adults - $19

Zoo Byte sessions

Try a "Zoo Byte" when time is short at the Zoo – give your students an introduction to the context of conservation with a short half hour educator led session, concentrating on conservation projects run at and led by Auckland Zoo.

Suitable for Year 3 – Year 13 and overseas visitors.

Available during term time – Wednesday – Friday (10am – 10.30am and 10.30am – 11am)
Some afternoon slots available by arrangement.

Students - $7 each
Supervising adults (including teachers) (1 adult : 6 students) – free of charge

Discovery Sessions – Classroom based

Curriculum focussed in depth sessions for NZ students (LEOTC contract) Year 1 – Year 13

45 – 60 minute sessions available Monday – Friday (10am – 11am, 11am – 12noon and 12noon – 1pm)

Learn the wild way with our Discovery Days!  Run twice a term, these zoo grounds based activity days are suitable for all year levels.
